Senior Friendly Moving Company
I moved my 92 year old mother from our home in northeastern OH to Colorado Springs.  After interviewing 3 moving cos., we decided to go with Allied - Rose Moving was the company which actually moved her belongings, not the local Allied franchise.  This was a littler disconcerting for me at first, since I had expected that the local company I had chosen would be the actual movers - there are always so many ways that a partial load move can get screwed up.  However, my fears were groundless.  My only point of contact with Rose was Jeff Hayes, the driver, and he was friendly, professional and very efficient.  My mother moved into a senior retirement home and Jeff was very respectful of the needs of the other residents (regarding noise and blocking entrances), which was a relief - didn't want to make a bad first impression for my mom with her new neighbors!  What's more, unlike the representatives from the other movers, Jeff interacted with my mom (who was the one who was actually paying for the move) - the others seemed to ignore my mom and only address their remarks to me.  I have noticed this type of disrespectful behavior when seniors are concerned and dislike it.

Although there was a small glitch along the way, Jeff's only concern was to do whatever it took to make it right - there was no knee-jerk reaction of "It's not my fault" which seems to be very common nowadays.  This glitch was resolved satisfactorily.

All in all, this was an unexpectedly pleasant and worry-free ( or as close as any move can come to being worry-free) move.  If Rose's other drivers are similar in caliber to Jeff, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rose to anyone who is planning a move.

You will NOT be disappointed!
I recently worked with Rose Moving and Storage via the Allied Van Lines network.  Jim Stafford was my estimator for a move from MI to TX and he was thorough courteous and professional.  Even though I chose the price guarantee, his estimate was very close to actual and I had no hidden fees or charges throughout the move. Judy, my move coordinator was also very helpful and kept the lines of communication constantly open for any questions I had.

The real gem in the whole transaction, however, was the driver.  Tom moved my entire house from MI to TX and he was INCREDIBLE!  He was very friendly, efficient and punctual, showing up EARLY for both the loading and unloading.  I had over 100 boxes and a lot of very large/heavy furniture that had to make the move to an apartment AND storage unit in TX.  Not only was he able to get to TX and deliver things earlier than originally estimated (YAY!) but EVERYTHING survived the move with ZERO damage.  If you've ever moved across the country, you should know how rare this is.  Tom called me multiple times to provide updates on his progress and made sure I was comfortable with the move every step of the way.  I would highly recommend Rose to anyone who is looking to move a long distance.  Request Tom as your driver if he is available -- you will not be disappointed!

History

In 1836 three entrepreneurs named Dibble, Kingsbury and Kendall bought 480 acres (1.9 km2) along the Thornapple River from Detroit banker Eurotas P. Hastings. The three platted the area into lots, and soon a small community arose. In 1843, the state legislature designated Hastings as the County Seat of Barry (Barry, Michigan Relocation Company). The first paper, the Barry (Barry, Michigan Moving Reviews) Pioneer, began publishing in 1851, and a second paper, the Republic (Republic, MI Moving Reviews)an Banner, began in 1856. The latter publication, a weekly paper published on Thursdays, continues to be published as the Hastings (Get Moves Quote for Hastings, MI) Banner.

Hastings was incorporated as a village in 1855, with a population of around 300, and on March 11, 1871, officially become a city. The Barry (Barry, MI Relocation) Courthouse, which is still in use today, was built in 1893. The city grew slowly, reaching 6,500 people in 1960 and remaining nearly flat through 1990.

Starting in late 2012, construction began on a Holiday Inn Express. It will be located on West M-43.
