Excellent experience
They showed up on time for the packing and delivery.  Everything arrived in excellent condition.  The furniture was placed exactly where we wanted, as were the boxes to be unpacked by us.  Beverly was wonderful about keeping us informed.  Dave and his helpers did a fantastic job.

Fantastic Move
I was in the military for 21 years and worked for 20 years after, moving 6 times. By far the best move was done recently for us by Rose from Michigan and Tucson,AZ. From the time the Rose sales rep,Mike, arrived and planned the moves, we knew we were in for great service. We also had two small loads to our kids in Canada and Virginia. All three packing and pick ups were on time and done to perfection. The main load to AZ packing was really professional, the packers courteous, friendly, and meticulous with expert packing skills. Upon arrival in AZ(we had a door to door move) the unloaded the truck in record time, loaded the large large cartons we unpacked immediately, and placed furniture in the places we wanted. I have been unpacking for a week and everything came through in great condition,no breakage. We could NOT have asked for better. And thru the entire process the move coordinator at Rose,Beverly, did a superb job of keeping us informed and checking to see that all was well. CHOSE ROSE MOVING,no one can do better.

Senior Friendly Moving Company
I moved my 92 year old mother from our home in northeastern OH to Colorado Springs.  After interviewing 3 moving cos., we decided to go with Allied - Rose Moving was the company which actually moved her belongings, not the local Allied franchise.  This was a littler disconcerting for me at first, since I had expected that the local company I had chosen would be the actual movers - there are always so many ways that a partial load move can get screwed up.  However, my fears were groundless.  My only point of contact with Rose was Jeff Hayes, the driver, and he was friendly, professional and very efficient.  My mother moved into a senior retirement home and Jeff was very respectful of the needs of the other residents (regarding noise and blocking entrances), which was a relief - didn't want to make a bad first impression for my mom with her new neighbors!  What's more, unlike the representatives from the other movers, Jeff interacted with my mom (who was the one who was actually paying for the move) - the others seemed to ignore my mom and only address their remarks to me.  I have noticed this type of disrespectful behavior when seniors are concerned and dislike it.

Although there was a small glitch along the way, Jeff's only concern was to do whatever it took to make it right - there was no knee-jerk reaction of "It's not my fault" which seems to be very common nowadays.  This glitch was resolved satisfactorily.

All in all, this was an unexpectedly pleasant and worry-free ( or as close as any move can come to being worry-free) move.  If Rose's other drivers are similar in caliber to Jeff, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rose to anyone who is planning a move.

History

Lewis Cass, the third governor of Michigan Territory, established the boundaries of Oakland County in 1819. Waterford (Waterford, Michigan Relocation) was organized in 1834.

Before being displaced by European settlers in the 18th and early 19th century, the area was populated with Iroquoian and Algonquian tribes of the Hurons, Ottawas, Ojibwas, Potawatomies, Miamis, Sauk, Sashabaws, and others. During the French and Iroquois Wars, the Iroquois expanded westward and maintained a temporary presence in the area, having displaced other tribes. However, by the time white settlers ventured into the area that would become Waterford (Get Relocation Prices for Waterford, MI) Village, there were few Native Americans living in the area.

In the latter part of 1818 Oliver Williams and his brother-in-law, Alpheus Williams, entered the first land purchase for $2.00 an acre ($494/km²). Archibald Phillips and Alpheus Williams purchased 161.40 acres (653,200 m2) in what became the village of Waterford (Get Move Estimate for Waterford, MI).

In 1819, the Oliver Williams family established the first farm settlement in the county on the banks of Silver Lake. Archibald Phillips and Alpheus Williams continued on to where the Clinton River crossed the Saginaw Trail (now known as US-24/Dixie Highway). Here the first house of the village of Waterford (Get Move Estimate for Waterford, MI) was built by Alpheus Williams on the north bank of the river.
